Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 29, 2026
Takao Sunagawa (hereinafter referred to as the "Developer") hereby establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in the iOS mobile application "GoalGrid" (hereinafter referred to as the "App") and the official website (hereinafter referred to as the "Website").
The App is designed with user privacy protection as our top priority. As a general rule, we do not collect, store, or view your personal goal data, task descriptions, or progress records.
1. Definition of Personal Information
"Personal Information" in this Policy refers to "Personal Information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, which is information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details, email address, or other descriptions contained in the information.
2. App Data Storage, Sync, and Security
All goals (major, medium, small), ToDo lists, progress, settings, and due date information entered into the App are saved locally on the user's device storage (using the iOS SwiftData framework).
(1) iCloud Data Sync (Premium Feature)
Users who subscribe to the Premium plan can choose to enable iCloud synchronization (Apple CloudKit). This feature automatically and securely synchronizes data across all devices signed in with the same Apple ID. This synchronization is processed directly through Apple's secure cloud infrastructure and stored in the user's personal iCloud storage space. The Developer does not manage, receive, or store this data on any external servers.
(2) CSV Data Export (Premium Feature)
The CSV export feature provided in the Premium plan allows you to write your goal and task data as a CSV file to your local device. The output file is stored under your own management. The Developer does not collect, inspect, or have access to this file.
(3) App Lock and Biometric Authentication (Premium Feature)
For enhanced security, the App offers an "App Lock" feature using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. This authentication process is executed locally via standard iOS system security frameworks (LocalAuthentication). The Developer never obtains, stores, or processes your facial recognition data, fingerprint data, or passcode.
(4) Backup and Restore
When you manually export a backup file from the settings screen, the backup file is exported as a JSON file under your own control. You are responsible for protecting and managing your backup files.
3. Information Collection and Utilization by Third-Party SDKs
For feature improvement, license verification, and ad delivery, the App utilizes the following third-party SDKs. These SDKs collect and process data in accordance with their own independent privacy policies.
(1) Advertisement Delivery (Google AdMob)
We use the Google AdMob SDK to display advertisements to users on the Free plan.
- Information Collected: Advertising Identifier (IDFA), device model, OS version, IP address, and ad interaction history (anonymous technical data).
- Purpose of Use: Delivering personalized advertisements, controlling ad frequency, and preventing invalid clicks/fraud.
- SKAdNetwork Utilization: The App utilizes Apple's "SKAdNetwork" framework for ad attribution measurement. This allows us to measure campaign metrics (such as app installs and ad clicks) anonymously. No personally identifiable information is collected, and user privacy remains strictly protected.
- Detailed Information: To understand how Google manages ad data, please check the Google Advertising Policies and Terms.
- Opt-Out: You can restrict personalized advertising and tracking by going to iOS "Settings" > "Privacy & Security" > "Tracking" and disabling tracking permission for the App.
(2) In-App Purchase Management (RevenueCat)
We use the RevenueCat SDK for subscription/lifetime license verification and transaction management.
- Information Collected: Anonymous app user identifier, Apple-issued transaction ID, purchase date, product ID, and purchase history status.
- Purpose of Use: Unlocking premium features, verifying subscription status, and executing purchase restorations.
- Detailed Information: For details on RevenueCat's data protection, please refer to the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. Credit card information or bank accounts used for payments are securely processed by Apple and are never transmitted to or stored by the Developer.
4. Collection of Information in Inquiries
We collect email addresses and inquiry details through the inquiry form for the purpose of responding to inquiries. The collected information will be used solely for the purpose of replying to and handling inquiries, and will not be used for any other purposes.
When you contact the Developer using the inquiry form (Google Forms) on this Website, the following information is collected:
- Information Collected: Name (nickname allowed), email address, inquiry text, and any other details you choose to provide.
- Purpose of Use: Responding to user inquiries, providing support, and contacting you regarding App bug fixes.
- Management: Personal information obtained through support inquiries is managed securely and deleted in a timely manner after support is concluded. We do not share this data with third parties without your explicit consent unless required by law.
5. Use of Local Notifications
The App utilizes the standard iOS local notification feature (UserNotifications framework) for the following purposes:
- Deadline Alerts: Reminders sent 1 day before or on the due date of set ToDo items.
- Goal Recollection: Notifications sent at your preferred day and time showing the title of your major goal, helping you stay focused.
All notification processing is executed locally on your device. Notification content is never transmitted to external servers. You can toggle notifications on or off at any time in the iOS settings or the App settings.
6. Third-Party Provision of Personal Information
The Developer manages collected personal information (such as support emails) properly and will not disclose it to third parties except in the following cases:
- With the user's explicit consent.
- When required by law or requested by public authorities (such as courts or police).
- When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of the user or others, and obtaining consent is difficult.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 4. The Developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 4. If a parent or guardian discovers that a child under 4 has provided personal information, please contact the support window. Upon verification, we will promptly delete the data.
8. Disclaimer
The use of the App and Website is at the user's own risk. The Developer shall not be held liable for any trouble, data loss, system errors, or other damages arising from the use of the App or Website under any circumstances.
Users are responsible for backing up their own data. The Developer cannot recover lost data due to device loss, damage, or system corruption, and such events are exempted from liability.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
The interpretation and application of this Policy shall be governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from this Policy or the use of the App or Website shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kobe District Court in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, for the first instance.
10. Changes to Privacy Policy
The Developer reserves the right to modify this Policy without prior notice to reflect App updates, revisions to applicable laws, or changes in third-party tool specifications.
Modified policies become effective immediately upon being posted on this Website. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed.
